Frequently asked questions

Short answers about streaming 24/7 with CastLoop: cost, files, platforms and what happens when something goes wrong.

Can I stream 24/7 to YouTube without OBS or a PC?

Yes. CastLoop streams your uploaded videos or music from our servers, so your computer, OBS and your own internet connection can all be off. Upload your files, connect your channel and press Start. You can close the browser once the stream is live, and it reconnects by itself if the connection drops.

How much does it cost?

$6 per month of live time for your first stream, billed per minute. Streams that are live at the same time cost $6 for the first, $4 for the second and $3 for the third and each one after. You only pay while a stream is actually sending, there's no subscription, and you top up from $5 with a card. Every new account starts with a 7-day free trial, no card needed. See Pricing.

Can I stream music with a cover image?

Yes. Upload MP3, M4A or WAV tracks and one JPG or PNG cover image, and the image becomes the video while your music plays. Play one track on repeat or all your tracks as a playlist, shuffled if you like, and new uploads join a running playlist without a restart. You can also show a Now playing title on screen, taken from the MP3 tags or the file name. Without a cover image the video is a black background.

Can I stream to Twitch and Kick at the same time?

Yes. One stream can go to YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Facebook and Rumble at the same time, in any combination, with or without YouTube. Tick the platforms you want and paste each platform's stream key. The video is encoded once and sent to each platform separately, and extra platforms on the same stream cost nothing extra.

What happens when my credit runs out?

Your streams stop automatically, and you never owe anything. Your balance can't go below $0, so there's no debt and no surprise bill. Add credit and press Start to go live again.

Do I need to keep my computer on?

No. Everything runs on our servers, so you can close the browser and turn your computer off once your stream is live.

What files can I upload?

Videos as .mp4, music as .mp3, .m4a or .wav, and cover images as .jpg or .png. We convert uploads to the format the platforms expect, so you don't need to change any settings. A track can be up to 3 hours long, and each account has 5 GB of storage.

How do I connect my YouTube channel?

Paste your stream key from YouTube Studio → Create → Go live → Stream, together with your channel's live link (youtube.com/@yourchannel/live). To confirm the channel is yours, you add a short code from your dashboard to the channel description and press Check. You can remove the code again afterwards. If you've never streamed before, enable live streaming on your channel first. YouTube can take up to 24 hours to approve it.

Can I be live only at certain hours?

Yes. Each stream can have a daily schedule in your own time zone, for example 08:00 to 22:00, and you only pay for the hours it's live.

What happens if the connection drops?

We reconnect automatically: first after 10 seconds, then 30 seconds, 1 minute, and after that every 5 minutes for about an hour and a half. A watchdog also restarts any stream that hasn't sent data for two minutes, and if YouTube stops showing a stream we're still sending, we reconnect so it picks it up again.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new account starts with a 7-day free trial, no card needed. After the trial you only pay for the time you're live.

What am I allowed to stream?

Only videos and music you own or have the rights to stream. Each platform also has its own rules for pre-recorded and looped streams. See the acceptable use rules.

Is CastLoop part of YouTube or Google?

No. CastLoop is an independent service and is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.
